It's no secret that I love a good event. I like dinner parties, dance parties, live music, the ballet, art openings, and just about anything else that gives me the chance to don a great dress, see my lovely friends, and have a great time.
I attend so many amazing things put on by my friends that I try to pay it back a few times a year by hosting something of my own.
This past weekend we hosted a 1960's themed cocktail party to celebrate the Christmas season. I looked up some vintage drinks, invited everyone to come in costume, and tried my best to put out food that still looked edible but fit the theme.
...and believe me - the food was a tall order. Most of the recipes I stumbled upon involved suspending strange vegetables in jello.

That's so cool! I love the 60's outfit... and costume parties in general. I wish they would happen more often!
