In honor of the city in which I live being named the least obese in the country I have decided to participate in another athletic endeavor - I'd like to run a half marathon this year.
I'm going to start small, with a 10K, but work up to a half marathon somewhere around Colorado (hopefully on the relatively flat eastern plains!)
I purchased a pair of running shoes yesterday, and I'm excited to start running (which I haven't done seriously since I've stopped doing tris...) but I'm not going to give up cycling. I haven't had much focus for riding this year, and I admit it has been a crazy year with big plans falling through and other ones taking their place, but nothing beats a long ride through the mountains on a warm sunny day. Either discipline will work my endurance and I could probably use some impact exercise outside of weights.
